| Below
is a small area sample of a USGS Digital Raster Graphic 1:24,000 scale
(7.5 minute) map with updated trails overlaid on it. Other
information that is not shown could include waypoints, links to
notes and pictures, small text notes for mileages, etc., and symbols
for parking lots, campgrounds, and more. |

| Below
is another sample of a topographic map with updated trails on it plus waypoints. The
solid purple line, which is also slightly wider, represents a double (wider than normal) track trail.
The
dashed purple line represents a primary single track trail.
Portions of a primary trail may become primitive at times. The
dashed red line represents a trail that is fairly primitive. The
dotted black line represents an old road in one case and a
miscellaneous or "other" trail in the case of the trail by the
stream/camp. The particular program/version that did the overlay
for these images didn't break the solid line into dashed lines very
well when zoomed out. Other programs will be different. |
